Shanghai Changzheng New Pudong Hospital
The largest hospital ever built in China in one phase is an academic medical center of almost 4 million square feet and more than 2,000 beds. RTKL’s design incorporates sustainability, upscale amenities, Chinese cultural values, and the healing power of nature. The campus will include research, teaching, and conferencing facilities plus a major diagnostics and trauma program.

UT Southwestern Medical Center New University Hospital
The new replacement hospital for 50-year-old UTSW Medical Center is a dramatic W-shaped building designed on an extremely fast schedule. The project achieved all design and budget requirements while successfully modernizing the hospital’s image. Educational and research components are integrated into patient units for researcher/physician teamwork near patients.

Military Medical Complex at King Khalid International Airport
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense and Aviation selected RTKL to master plan a 4,000-bed military hospital and academic research campus. RTKL is also designing all Phase I facilities. The new campus will become the flagship of the Riyadh Military Hospital system. Major components of the 35M SF project include a Trauma Center, Tertiary Medical Center, and numerous specialty centers.

Clínica Las Condes Bed Towers Expansion
After completing a campus master plan for Clinica Las Condes, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins International, RTKL designed Phase I of a campus expansion. The project adds two energy efficient, hospitality-style bed towers to the campus. RTKL also is providing medical equipment planning and technology systems design services.

Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital
RTKL was asked to serve as design advisor for this 1.9 million SF, 1,200-bed hospital after construction had begun on its original design. RTKL identified three main inefficiencies with the first design and was able to create a more flexible and space-efficient facility. RTKL also redesigned the building skin for a more upscale contemporary appearance.

John Radcliffe Hospital
RTKL designed a new neurosciences facility and a new pediatric facility that consolidates Oxford-area children’s services at Radcliffe Hospital. It was one of the first healthcare projects in the UK to designate building functions via visually distinct spaces. The projects also focused on sustainability for long-term cost savings and environmental benefits.

UC San Diego Sulpizio Family Cardiovascular Center
A 134,000-SF hospital expansion includes a state-of-the-art, comprehensive cardiovascular center for the John M. and Sally B. Thornton Hospital on the University of California, San Diego East Campus. The facility, which consolidates inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular services into one convenient center, will facilitate translational research and high-tech/high-touch patient care.
