O2 Leisure & Entertainment District
A music-infused leisure and entertainment district breathes life into one of London’s most iconic landmarks.
As part of Greenwich Peninsula’s regeneration, CallisonRTKL was commissioned to take part in the design of the O2, a modern entertainment complex that houses bars and restaurants, live music venues, a 23,000-seat theatre, an exhibition centre and an 11-screen cinema. The design is driven by high-quality materials and a carefully developed sense of scale over three vibrant, indoor streets interspersed with open spaces. State-of-the-art technologies are used throughout, while period architectural elements, including traditional London street furniture, help shape a cohesive sense of place for visitors.
